With summer just around the corner, QSRs are introducing summer flavors. Dutch Bros Coffee recently launched LTO Matcha, Dulce de Leche and Mochi Berry flavored beverages, the retailer said in a press release.

  • The Lavender Matcha Latte is a “vibrant excursion of lavender, matcha and 2% milk.”
  • The Raspberry Matcha Latte is a “refreshing voyage of raspberry, matcha and 2% milk.”
  • The Paradise Matcha Lemonade is an “exotic escape of mango, matcha and lemonade topped with strawberry fruit.”
  • The Dulce de Leche is a “sweet journey with caramel and sweet cream blended together finished with a layer of Soft Top, complete with caramel drizzle and cinnamon sprinks! Try it as a Freeze or Latte.”
  • The Mochi Berry is a “trip to cloud 9 with strawberry, passion fruit and sweet cream finished with Soft Top and dreamy mochi pieces! Tastes best as a Blended Rebel energy drink, Blended Lemonade or shake.”

KFC is getting in the spirit by bringing back its “popular sweet and savory menu item, chicken and waffles, for the first time in over five years—available on KFC menus nationwide … [and] As an added treat, KFC is introducing Strawberry & Crème Pie Poppers with strawberry and cream filling in a flaky crust,” the retailer said in a press release.

The chicken chain is offering several meal deals for its chicken and waffles offering, including:

  • $7 Tenders and Waffle Box: three original recipe tenders, a Liège-style waffle, and Mrs. Butterworth's syrup.
  • $25 Chicken & Waffles Fan Favorites Box: four pieces of fried chicken (or six tenders), 12 KFC nuggets, four Liège-style waffles, two individual fries and your choice of four syrups or dipping sauces.

Meanwhile, Bojangles is “putting a fresh twist on its iconic beverage with the launch of Watermelon Sweet Tea,” according to a press release. The LTO blends the QSR's iced tea “with real watermelon juice for a new, refreshing flavor perfect for the summer season.”

To mark the occasion, the chain hosted a “Tea Time” event in Charlotte, where guests enjoyed golf games, giveaways and free Watermelon Sweet Tea. PGA TOUR golfer Chesson Hadley was also onsite for a meet-and-greet to celebrate the new menu item.

In other recent QSR news, earlier this month NACS Daily reported that McDonald’s will be launching a beverage test in the United States later this year at some of its existing restaurants to incorporate menu items inspired by its beverage-focused store concept CosMc’s.
