Earlier this month, Jimmy John’s added toasted sandwiches to its menus nationwide. Customers can now toast any sandwich on the menu or try one of three new toasted sandwich options on the menu.

The new toasted sandwiches include:

  • Chicken bacon ranch: Chicken, bacon, provolone, fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo and ranch on French bread.
  • Roast beef and cheddar: Roast beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, horseradish sauce, crispy fried onions, fresh tomato, lettuce, onion and mayo on French bread.
  • Ultimate Italian: Capocollo, salami, ham, bacon, parmesan, provolone, fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo, oregano-basil and a drizzle of oil and vinegar on French bread.

Firehouse Subs announced it is “cranking up the heat with an exciting new partnership with Hot Ones,” the hot wing celebrity interview series. The QSR said that guests nationwide can “test their heat tolerance” with two new limited time subs: the spicy dill hook and ladder and the zesty garlic hook and ladder.

The spicy dill hook and ladder is “for those seeking serious heat,” the company said, and is “Firehouse Subs’ spiciest menu offering to date.” The sandwich features smoked turkey, honey ham, melted pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, deli mustard, Firehouse Hero Sauce and the one-of-a-kind last dab dill pickle. The last dab dill pickle is a pickle plank marinated in Hot Ones’ Last Dab Reaper Edition hot sauce.

The zesty garlic hook and ladder is described as “more on the mild side,” and features smoked turkey, honey ham, melted pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, garlic chips and mayo, with a garlicky punch from Hot Ones' classic garlic Fresno hot sauce.

In other recent sandwich promotions, Subway brought back its $6.99 any footlong promotion for a limited time.

"People continue to watch their spending but don’t want to sacrifice quality, quantity and taste for value when dining on the go,” said Doug Fry, president, Subway North America. “With the return of the $6.99 Any Footlong offer, Subway is delivering on all three, with freshly made, great-tasting sandwiches at an exceptional value.”

The sandwich chain also added its new Oreo footlong cookie, available for a limited time. According to the company, “Subway's newest footlong treat perfectly blends the decadent double chocolate cookie with the delicious flavors of a classic Oreo—served warm and ready to share.”
