EG America recently raised $560,000 for the American Red Cross during its nationwide in-store fundraiser.
According to a press release sent to NACS, guests at EG America’s Certified Oil, Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf ‘N Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Sprint Food Stores, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill stores were able to donate $1, $5 or an amount of their choosing to the Red Cross throughout the month of March. EG America then increased the total donation by matching the amounts raised by the top stores.
“We are honored to partner with the American Red Cross and support the incredible work the organization does for those facing hardship,” said Russ Colaco, CEO of EG Group. “Thanks to the remarkable dedication of our team members and the generosity of our guests, we are able to support such a deserving cause.”
EG America also participated in a 5k to benefit local communities last month. “EG America participated in the United Way Corporate 5K—a race bringing local companies together to compete (for fun!) and raise funds to support United Way programs across the MetroWest/495 region of Massachusetts including hunger relief, early literacy and suicide prevention. Team Cumberland Farms came in 4th—with many fans there to cheer them on, including Brewtus!” the retailer posted on LinkedIn.
Mirabito Cares is launching a new round up campaign at Mirabito Convenience Stores to support Folds of Honor, an organization “that provides life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders,” according to a press release.
“From June 2 through July 6, customers are invited to round up their in-store purchases to the nearest dollar at any participating Mirabito Convenience Store. All funds raised will be donated directly to Folds of Honor, with Mirabito making an additional contribution on behalf of the company,” the retailer said.
“For nearly a century, Mirabito has been committed to supporting the communities we serve—especially those who have served for us. We are proud to stand behind Folds of Honor and the incredible mission they carry out,” said Marissa Sweeney, director of marketing & communications at Mirabito Energy Products. “Supporting first responders and their families is deeply important to us, and this campaign is one small way we can show our appreciation for the sacrifices they make every day.”
In May, Murphy USA held a cookout to benefit its Need Fund. “Our Merchandise team fired up the grill with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Murphy Employees Disaster Relief Foundation, aka the Need Fund. This event isn't just about burgers—it's about supporting our own in times of crisis. Whether it’s a natural disaster or unexpected hardship, the Need Fund is there when our team members need it most,” Murphy USA posted on LinkedIn.
