With the summer season finally here, QSRs are leaning into fruity summer LTOs.
Last month, Starbucks introduced new and returning limited-time beverages: The Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso joins returning Summer-Berry Starbucks Refreshers Beverages and a new Strawberries & Cream Cake Pop, according to a press release.
Starbucks said the Summer-Berry drinks feature “a sweet and summery blend of raspberry, blueberry and blackberry flavors shaken with ice and water, poured over raspberry flavored pearls, this returning drink delivers a juicy burst of raspberry flavor in every sip. The vibrant flavors of Summer-Berry Refreshers can also be ordered with lemonade in the Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher or with creamy coconut milk in the Summer Skies Drink.”
The new Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso features Starbucks Blonde Espresso, oat milk and horchata flavored syrup—which is a fusion of cinnamon, vanilla and subtle nutty notes reminiscent of the rice milk that makes up a traditional horchata.
Dutch Bros Coffee is also leaning into fruity flavors. The QSR brought back its mangonada flavored drinks, according to a press release. The company said the mangonada Rebel features mangonada and the Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink, topped with strawberry fruit and a hint of Tajin. The mangonada lemonade is made with mangonada and lemonade, complete with strawberry fruit and a hint of Tajin. Both drinks are available iced or blended.
Meanwhile, Dunkin’ is “serving bold flavor and big energy” in its Refreshers line-up with the Dunkin’ Pink Spritz Refresher, according to a press release. Dunkin’ describes the drink as a fizzy, fruit-forward blend of guava, orange and passion fruit flavors with a splash of sparkling water—“a sparkling, sweet sip that’s ready to kick off summer.”
Dunkin’ also launched a new donut: the Orange N’ Vanilla specialty donut. “A taste of summer nostalgia, the glazed cake donut is topped with a smooth vanilla flavored icing drizzle and available for a limited time. It joins other seasonal menu items announced earlier this month, like the Iced Strawberry Lemon Loaf,” the retailer said.
