Circle K has unveiled its newest flagship service station in Järna, southwest of Stockholm in Sweden—a 30,000-square-meter EV charging location with 26 ultra-fast charging points for light and heavy vehicles. It is the retailer’s largest EV charging location worldwide, according to a press release from Circle K.
The station was “designed with direct customer input [and] addresses their needs with a range of innovative features. The station includes a covered charging area with solar panels, benches at the charging points and atmospheric lighting. Additionally, it features clearly marked crosswalks for increased safety, and a drive-through solution for faster and more convenient charging,” Circle K said.
The retailer said that the store also offers a wide range of food and beverage options, along with car-side delivery service that allows customers to order and have their food delivered without leaving their car. All grades of standard fuel are available.
Hans-Olav Høidahl, EVP European operations and global eMobility at Circle K, said “Our customers are at the heart of our eMobility journey at Circle K. Our newest location in Järna represents our commitment to making our customers' EV journey as easy and convenient as possible, offering not only a charging opportunity but a complete retail experience. This is an exciting moment for our team in Sweden and our global organization as we continue to build a leading position in the European EV charging market and become our customer’s preferred on-the-go charging destination.”
Circle K said it continues to focus on “combining innovative technology, sustainable energy and customer-focused design to make EV journeys as seamless as possible.”
According to a LinkedIn post from the company, Circle K plans to open its first location dedicated exclusively to EV charging later this spring in Sweden.
Last month, Circle K’s European stores celebrated a Kindness Week. The week was described as “building on the success of Kindness Day over the past two years, … [and] launching a full week of kindness campaigns across its European store network, with local activities designed to promote mutual respect and foster a safe, inclusive work environment for all.”
