Starting February 26 for a limited time, KFC is introducing the Chizza ("cheet-za") to KFC menus in the United States. The new menu item is a combination of pizza and chicken: Two white meat, fried chicken filets topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni.

“Fried chicken and pizza collaborated to create something even better—the Chizza,” said Nick Chavez, CMO, KFC U.S. “The fan-favorite mashup is finally available in the United States after making its way around the world—try it while you can!

Chizza first debuted on KFC menus in the Philippines in 2015, and has since made its way around the world to Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Germany, Spain, and Mexico, among other countries.

KFC will transform its E 14th St. New York City location into a “Chizzeria” pop-up serving one item only—the Chizza. Visitors to the Chizzeria can try the Chizza for free before anyone else. Doors to the preview tasting are open February 23-24.

Elsewhere in QSR menu innovation, Taco Bell recently introduced its take on the empanada with its cheesy chicken Crispanada, a fusion of cheese, chicken, and Mexican spices in a crispy, crunchy shell. The Crispanada underwent testing in Tennessee in early 2023, “sparking excitement among fans and leading to its nationwide debut,” the company said.

First available on February 15, the Crispanada is encased within a crispy shell “bursting with Mexican-inspired flavors, including a harmonious blend of tender and seasoned chicken and a melty infusion of rich, gooey cheese.” The cheesy chicken Crispanada is available nationwide for a limited time.
