PLANO, Texas—Pizza Hut has relaunched its 16-inch New York-style pizza called "The Big New Yorker" for a limited time beginning February 1. Pizza Hut rewards members receive early access to the pizza on January 31.

The pizza chain initially introduced the Big New Yorker 24 years ago but later retired it and has since received “numerous different requests” to bring the pizza back. There have been social media accounts dedicated to its return, Reddit threads and a Change.org petition with thousands of signatures, according to Pizza Hut.

Yum Brands, Pizza Hut’s parent company, has been bringing back different menu items at its brands recently. Last May, Taco Bell successfully re-introduced its Mexican Pizza after several years off the menu. By the end of June, Taco Bell had already sold 20 million Mexican Pizzas across the U.S. The chain attributed growth in loyalty membership to customers’ desire for early access to the product. It made the item permanent in the fall.

Taco Bell also brought back its Nacho Fries nationwide for a limited time last fall and is considering adding the fries to its menu permanently, as it looks to compete with fast-food rivals such as McDonald’s.

Yum Brands’ KFC also brought back its chicken Twister wraps after being discontinued for eight years, reports Nation’s Restaurant News.

Meanwhile, Restaurant Business International, which is the parent company of Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes, announced that 92% of its global markets will use only cage-free eggs by 2025, according to a press release by Open Wing Alliance. By 2030, all markets will be using only cage-free eggs.

Restaurant Brands International is one of the top 10 largest restaurant groups in the world by revenue with over 29,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
