COLUMBUS, Ohio – As consumers are seeking out bolder flavors and Taco Bell’s successful limited-time-offer Nacho Fries leaves the menu, the Tex-Mex chain is testing two hotter flavors in Ohio: Reaper Ranch Fries and Rattlesnake Fries, Nation’s Restaurant News reports.

Reaper Ranch Fries features Caroline Reaper pepper—the world’s hottest pepper—in a sauce, while Rattlesnake Fries come with nacho cheese, creamy jalapeño sauce, sliced jalapeños and grilled steak poured over them, nachos style. Rattlesnake Fries also come as a grilled burrito.

“The world’s hottest pepper as a main ingredient? Bravo, Taco Bell! Will you ask your customers to sign a legal waiver before they eat Reaper Ranch Fries?” asked analyst Mark Kalinowski with Kalinowski Equity Research in a research note.

Taco Bell’s $1 Nacho Fries became a huge success, even as a higher-priced menu option this summer. A few months ago, Taco Bell acknowledged that the fries contributed to an overall purchase increase. Many customers added Nacho Fries to 7 Layer Burrito, Bean Burrito, Beefy 5 Layer Burrito, Crunchwrap and Quesarito orders.

The chain will keep Nacho Fries on the menu a couple of weeks into September. This summer, Taco Bell also celebrated its Vegas wedding location and announced its “hiring parties” designed to fill positions at its units.
