VERNON HILLS, Ill. -- Nugget ice fans can now find locations serving the fountain beverage favorite with a new iPhone application released by Scotsman Ice Systems. By downloading the "Nug Locator," ice chewers can instantly view a list of venues serving nugget ice near their location using GPS tracking, or they can search for locations by inputting a zip code.

After opening the application, viewers are given the choice of locating nearby nugget ice venues by GPS or zip code. Based on that choice a list of locations appears. When a location is selected, the address is shown using Google Maps.

"Fans of chewable ice now have a way to locate authentic nugget ice from anywhere using their iPhones," said Terry Toth, marketing communications manager, Scotsman Ice Systems. "Ice chewers crave Scotsman nugget ice over other ice forms because it is softer, chewier and retains the flavor of the beverage."

The free application is available for download from the Apple App Store or at LuvtheNug.com. The "Nug Locator" is a part of the "Luv the Nug" campaign, a digital community that unites passionate ice chewers everywhere.
