NEW YORK CITY – Walmart recently announced it would bring same-day grocery delivery to New York City via Jet.com, which will open a fulfillment warehouse in the Bronx, Chain Store Age reports. The center will only have groceries and staples.

“This is a key building block that is part of Jet’s strategy focused on urban centers and will help us build personal relationships with customers while offering them a unique assortment, tailored experience and personal service,” said Simon Belsham, president of Jet.com.

Meanwhile, Target has added 20 stores in the Midwest and other states to its “Drive Up” curbside pickup service, Chain Store Age reports. Customers order through the Target app, then park in a designated spot to receive their purchase from a Target employee.

These additional stores mean customers who shop at more than 800 locations in 25 states now have access to Target’s “Drive Up” service. By this year’s holiday season, close to 1,000 stores will offer the program.

“Drive Up has quickly become one of Target’s most popular pickup options thanks to its speed and convenience, with everything from home essentials to clothing to electronics orders brought out to cars within two minutes of when a guest pulls into the store parking lot,” Target said.
