March 21, 2024

NACS recently launched its State of the Industry Talent Insights Dashboard, featuring the 2023 convenience human resource benchmarking data. The Dashboard, which evolved from the long-standing NACS State of the Industry Compensation Report, highlights the key categories of compensation, benefits, recruitment and turnover.

In a recent webinar, Jayme Gough, NACS research manager, discussed the data available in the tool, how to access it and how to use it to collaborate with your team to curate a winning talent and HR strategy.

“The compensation report has evolved from a PDF to an interactive, Power BI dashboard. It is clickable and easy to navigate with a main page and drop-down menus to help you find the data you need,” Gough said.

Gough also announced, “This year, we didn’t just make one Dashboard. There is also a five-year version of the Dashboard, which allows you to see the past five years’ worth of data all at once. The five-year Dashboard will have the same data breakdown as the one year, but it will also have an ‘Analyze Trend’ breakout, which will bring you to a page comparing the last five years of data.”

The Talent Insights Dashboard data also includes information on:

  • Salaries: Data on annual base salaries and bonuses for 16 executive-level positions, 13 operations positions and 10 store-level positions.
  • Benefits: Health insurance and other benefits offered by convenience retailers.
  • Turnover: Metrics on turnover for corporate, operational and store-level employees as well as 30-/60-/90-day turnover rates.
  • Recruitment and retention: Insights on the number and types of screenings, assessments, and interviews held to hire top talent, as well as key metrics on cost to hire, acceptance rates, and absenteeism.

The webinar is still available to watch on the NACS website. Register to download the webinar here.
