In a recent press release, Veeder-Root, a fuel management and environmental technology company, announced a collaboration with Total Meter Services to create the Biofuel Blending System (BBS). This solution uses the same technology as the Additive Injection System (AIS) to offer a versatile and accurate biofuel blending solution, specifically designed for retail locations.

The BBS installation options allow for both aboveground and belowground placements and integrates with existing hardware at the site. It does not require secondary pumps or variable speed drives in order to blend the fuels.

“We are excited to introduce the Biofuel Blending System in partnership with Total Meter Services,” said Steve Coppola, director of product for Veeder-Root. “This advanced in-line solution represents a significant step forward in biofuel blending technology, offering a versatile and precise system that meets the evolving needs of our valued customers.”

In June, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the department plans to invest up to $500 million to increase the availability of domestic biofuels and give Americans additional cleaner fuel options at the pump. Additionally, the EPA finalized the highest biofuel production targets in history with growth in cellulosic biofuel, biomass-based diesel, advanced biofuel and non-cellulosic advanced categories.
