How to Navigate Cannabis in the Workplace

A webinar will discuss cannabis use, testing and workplace policy trends.

April 04, 2023

CPEAR, the Coalition for Cannabis Policy, Education, and Regulation, of which NACS is a member, is hosting a webinar on how employers, as well as employees, can navigate cannabis in the workplace.

Currently, 19 states have legalized recreational cannabis, and 35 have legalized cannabis for medical use. Employers in states that have legalized cannabis have questions such as “Can we require pre-employment testing for cannabis?”, “Which workers are more likely to use cannabis?” and “Should we test workers for cannabis after a workplace accident or incident?” The webinar will discuss cannabis use, testing and workplace policy trends.

The webinar, “Cannabis in the Workplace: What Employers & Employees Need to Know” takes place on Thursday, April 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. MDT. Topics that will be discussed are:

  • How cannabis use impacts workers and which workers are most at-risk of impairment
  • What the current considerations are for workplace cannabis drug screening
  • How cannabis use impacts workplace safety

Speakers include Andrew Freedman, senior vice president, Forbes Tate Partners; Jo McGuire, executive director, National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association; Mike Van Dyke, PhD, associate professor and director of interdisciplinary education, Center for Health, Work & Environment.

Register today for the April 20 webinar.
