The Marketing Manager will work alongside marketing and communication team members, as well as outside partners (e.g., agencies, freelancers and creatives) to position and enhance the overall awareness, value proposition and equities of the NACS brand via the marketing of its vast event offerings. We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Marketing Manager who’s eager to do this and more. The ideal candidate has a knack for setting clear objectives while understanding each event’s unique needs to develop and execute omnichannel marketing programs and campaigns. The manager should be equally proficient with day-to-day marketing activities and long-term strategizing and thrive under tight deadlines to meet changing needs. An outstanding marketing manager will be someone whose expertise translates into heightened brand awareness, deeper attendee engagement and registration growth, and clear segmentation, positioning and value proposition for each event—all while maintaining NACS brand consistency.
This position will report to the Director of Marketing. This role is located at NACS Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
- Create and implement omni-channel marketing strategies, establishing positioning, articulating value proposition, identifying relevant target audiences, and developing plans with clear goals and objectives.
- Lead the end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns for a portfolio of NACS’ proprietary educational offerings and events, leveraging internal expertise and cross-functional collaboration.
- Prepare and monitor the marketing budget for multiple event campaign budgets and allocate funds wisely
- Manage creative, providing clear briefs and guidance on creative direction to achieve objectives for all public-facing communications (print, digital, and video) across a wide range of campaigns.
- Review the effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives using analytics to gain insights to optimize strategies and assess against goals alongside digital and editorial teams.
- Partner across the marketing team to analyze marketing best practices and gather customer and market insights to inform successful strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads.
- Extract key insights from analytic reporting with digital marketing team for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies. Make recommendations for strategic shifts and tactics.
- Ensure cohesive content and branding across channels.
- Collaborate with email, SMS, paid digital, social and web teams to design, test, and evolve lead-nurturing tactics.
- Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams and communicate with senior leaders of the team about results and recommendations for event strategies, tactics and budgets.

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
- A master's degree in a relevant field will be advantageous.
- Experience working at an agency preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in event marketing.
- Proven success in developing integrated marketing plans and campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of marketing strategies, channels and branding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail.
- Self-starter: strong time management, sound judgment and decision-making skills that allows you to plan and execute multiple, high-profile projects, and meet deadlines.
- Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity.
- Experience with CRM, marketing automation, content management and project management tools (Microsoft Dynamics, Miro and Smartsheet preferred).
- Team player: works within a fast-paced team environment to ensure goals are met or exceeded; strong project management and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email (Outlook) required.
- Experience in the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator) or similar preferred
