NACS, the Association for Convenience and Fuel Retailing, is seeking an experienced instructional designer to join our Education Team. Located in Alexandria, Virginia, you will work in an intellectually stimulating environment where innovative solutions are developed to support the dynamic convenience retail and fueling marketplace.

The ideal candidate for this role is driven, detail-oriented and naturally curious. They should have a strong desire to learn, problem solve and be equally comfortable developing and executing projects alone as well as collaborating with colleagues inside of the organization, and training partners outside of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • As a key member of NACS Education, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing content for convenience industry front line employees through executive level retail leaders
  • Collaborate with industry elearning partners to develop scalable front line manager training for our retail members
  • Evaluate potential training partners for both in-person and digital training offerings, ensuring best practices in instructional design and delivery
  • Conduct learning needs assessments with association members
  • Work closely with marketing teams to communicate new training offerings to members and meet sales goals
  • Implement and design creative and effective learning formats for members that may include blended, micro, or flipped learning programs
  • As a member of the NACS Education team, your expertise will be utilized to refine and grow speaker management tools and training resources
  • As our flagship event, you will be involved in our annual NACS Show to prepare speakers and ensure that session content meets overall learning objectives and are engaging for our member attendees

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in instructional design for both in-person and digital formats
  • Proficiency in Office 365: Mastery of PowerPoint, Word and Excel – with the desire and ability to learn new programs and software is highly desirable
  • Experience with elearning software, video editing and production software, learning management systems, and blended training programs
  • Experience in the full ADDIE model of instructional design or similar process
  • Ability to write clearly, engagingly and succinctly
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and cross function-collaboration skills
  • Natural curiosity and inquisitiveness, interest in learning all aspects of the convenience retailing business, keeping up to date with market developments and industry trends
  • Strong desire for continuous professional growth; active participation in organizations to keep atop of Instructional Design trends such as ATD, SHRM, or similar
  • Preference for candidates with past convenience or other frontline retail training and development experience

Salary Range: $85,000 To $105,000.00 Annually

Actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, skills, and other qualifications.
