SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA—7-Eleven Australia CEO and Managing Director Angus McKay is the 2024 recipient of NACS Convenience Industry Leader of the Year Award Asia-Pacific. The award, sponsored by PepsiCo, will be presented on March 6 at the NACS Convenience Summit Asia, taking place March 5-7 in Seoul, South Korea.
“Industry progress is not only driven by innovative companies, but by the energies, determination and inspiration of the individuals who lead them,” said NACS President and CEO Henry Armour, adding, “This award recognizes and honors the contributions of successful and influential industry leaders who represent excellence, dedication and influence in the convenience retail community.”
A values-led leader, McKay is respected for his commercial skills and steadfast focus on customer service and talent management. He joined 7-Eleven Australia as CEO in 2016 and became managing director in 2020. He is responsible for leading the 7-Eleven team, driving the business strategy and growing the 7-Eleven brand in Australia.
Before joining 7-Eleven Australia, McKay held leadership positions with The Skilled Group, Pacific National Rail, Asciano Limited and Foster’s Group.
McKay holds a Bachelor of Economics and Accounting from the University of Sydney and a Diploma of Corporate Management from the University of New South Wales.
