Weigel’s hosted its Wags for Warriors fundraiser party on June 29, in Maryville, Tennessee, to raise money for providing fully trained service dogs to wounded veterans and service members.

The Wags to Warriors event raised almost $250, which will be donated to Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

“We at Weigel’s always strive to support and give back to our community, especially those who serve and protect our country. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all service members for their dedication and sacrifice,” said Weigel’s.

The three-hour event featured samples from Weigel’s new Smash Burger menu, with four options: the W, BBQ bacon cheddar, mushroom Swiss, and the Scorcher. The burgers were priced at $6 each, with an option to double the patty for an additional $2. The party also had games including cornhole and a football net challenge.

Local firefighters, radio stations and Weigel’s partners at Eagle Distributing contributed to the festivities with prizes, said the retailer.

“During the event, we accepted donations of any size, allowing participants to enter a raffle for a variety of Bud Light freebies, including coolers that double as speakers, football nets, cornhole boards and more,” said Weigel’s. “Every donor also got a chance to spin a prize wheel, ensuring that everyone walked away with something special, from koozies and hats to t-shirts, first aid kits and keychains.”

Weigel’s community involvement with Smoky Mountain Service Dogs was featured in a 2021 Ideas 2 Go video, showcasing how Weigel’s work with the organization is changing lives. Watch the video here.
