Spinx Launches New Chicken Nuggets and Sauce

Plus, Rutter’s launched seasonal seafood options, including a crab mac and cheese wrap.

The Spinx Company introduced “legendary chicken nuggets” to its menu, along with a new signature dipping sauce, Spinx sauce, according to a press release. Both items are available now across Spinx’s more than 90-store footprint.

“Developed in partnership with Duke’s Mayonnaise—another iconic Greenville, South Carolina, brand—Spinx sauce is a savory, mayonnaise-based dip featuring notes of ketchup, Worcestershire and black pepper, finished with hints of garlic,” Spinx said.

Spinx said the nuggets are available in 4-, 8-, 12- and 20-count options.

“We’re excited to offer our customers a new way to enjoy Spinx legendary fried chicken with our own unique signature sauce and legendary chicken nuggets,” said Spinx CEO Steve Spinks. “When we set out to develop a sauce, it was only appropriate to work with another iconic, local brand like Duke’s to bring this sauce to life. And when launching a new sauce, it felt like the right time to add a new chicken option as well.”

The Spinx sauce and legendary chicken nuggets will be available at all Spinx locations where chicken is served, including the Spinx Market & Eatery in downtown Greenville.

Spinx opened its new concept Spinx Market & Eatery in October. The Spinx Market & Eatery offers a wide variety of items, including quick snacks, fresh produce, made-to-order food, everyday essentials and other local favorites. Customers can also buy beer and wine and enjoy it on the store’s premise. Greenville-based Double Stamp Brewery created two special brews just for the Spinx Market & Eatery.

Rutter’s also recently launched new menu items with a focus on seafood. The limited-time offers include:

  • Shrimp BLT: “Ten crisp Yuengling-battered shrimp, smoky bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato and mayo, all stacked on a toasted ciabatta roll for $7.99.”
  • Crab mac and cheese wrap: “A rich and indulgent fusion of creamy, Old Bay-seasoned mac and cheese paired with three savory crab cake sliders, all wrapped in a warm tortilla for $9.99.”
  • Fish & chips sub: “Golden-fried haddock topped with tartar sauce, crispy fries, a splash of vinegar and fresh lettuce, all served on a toasted sub roll for $8.99.”

“At Rutter’s, we’re always looking to bring bold, exciting flavors to our menu,” said Chad White, food service category manager at Rutter’s. “These new seafood-inspired offerings bring a unique twist to classic favorites, giving our customers even more delicious choices to enjoy anytime, day or night.”

Last month, Rutter’s launched a new store format that adds a bar to its convenience stores. The retailer’s 21+ Bar and Lounge locations will measure 14,000 square feet and feature a bar and lounge with TVs, adult beverages and video game terminals.
