Wally’s, the travel center that dubs itself the “Home of the Great American Road Trip,” will open its largest location and first in Indiana at the end of the month, according to reporting by local news outlet the Indianapolis Star. The store will open in Whitestown and will be the company’s third location, in addition to stores in Illinois and Missouri.
The 53,000-square-foot center, located off Interstate 65 at Albert S. White Drive, will offer freshly prepared foods, apparel, gift items and fuel; along with EV charging stations, according to the article.
Wally’s focuses on a road trip theme with Route 66 and retro décor—including a full-size Winnebago Brave recreational vehicle that’s been converted into a retail display—as well as nods to popular road trip movies.

Meanwhile, Kwik Trip is planning to close 13 Kwik Spirits stores, its brand of standalone alcohol stores, and Tobacco Outlet Plus locations, according to WXOW, a local news outlet in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The stores will close between April and the end of August.
Kwik Trip public relations specialist Ben Leibl told the outlet that the decision comes as alcohol and tobacco sales continue to decline nationwide, and that move reflects a broader shift away from standalone alcohol and tobacco stores.
Leibl said all employees affected by the closures are being offered positions at nearby Kwik Trip locations.
In other recent store openings, Love’s Travel Stops recently opened a new travel stop in Gretna, Florida, and is continuing work on its road ahead plan for 2026. Last week, Buc-ee’s broke ground on its first location in North Carolina and Wawa is gearing up to open its first store Tennessee later this month.
