The city of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, has announced details about a Buc-ee’s planned for the area ahead of an upcoming request to rezone the future property.
The proposed Buc-ee’s will be 73,370 square feet and have 120 gas pumps, including ethanol-free, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and EV charging. The store’s anticipated opening in early 2027 will mark a milestone, as it is expected to be the first Buc-ee’s to be built in the state.
“We are thrilled to welcome Buc-ee’s to Oak Creek, as they choose our growing city for their first-completed store in Wisconsin along the critical I-94 corridor,” said Mayor Dan Bukiewicz. “This exciting development not only strengthens our position as a key hub for travelers, but also brings new opportunities for local businesses and residents. We look forward to seeing the positive impact Buc-ee’s will have on our community.”
City documents reveal that Buc-ee’s has shared plans to employ (full time with benefits) over 175 people earning “an average minimum wage of $18-20 per hour.”
Buc-ee’s also has a plethora of locations which are under construction in other states.
Construction on Virginia’s first Buc-ee’s started in January 2024. The site is expected to open sometime in 2025, according to news outlet Virginia Business. The Rockingham County location will be 74,000 square feet and have 120 fueling positions.
A second Virginia location in New Kent County is also currently under construction and will reportedly open in 2027. The project was awaiting funding from the state to expand the exit, according to ABC 8 News.
Work on the Huber Heights, Ohio, location continues. It is expected to open around December 2025.
The first Buc-ee’s in Arizona is being built in Goodyear, and the location is expected to open at the end of 2025. The retailer is also currently working on its first location in the state of Arkansas, in Benton.
