Here’s Where Buc-ee’s Will Open Its Next Stores

A look at the retailer’s progress with its upcoming sites.

January 03, 2025

It has been roughly three years since the first Mississippi Buc-ee's was announced, and Mississippi officials expect the travel center to open this spring, reports local news outlet My San Antonio.

“It will also be among the largest stores in the company at a whopping 74,000-square-feet, 120 gas pumps, 24 electric vehicle spots and a car wash. The Harrison County Buc-ee's is anticipated to open in 2025, according to Buc-ee's expected openings, but a date wasn't posted,” wrote the outlet.

North Carolina is also waiting for its first Buc-ee’s to open in Mebane. The project was approved in January 2024. “As the first Buc-ee’s in North Carolina, the travel center will transform the city’s western edge, which has stayed mostly rural, despite a 14.5% growth in Mebane’s population since 2020. The city has just over 20,000 people,” reported local outlet The News and Observer.

The outlet reported that the Mebane Buc-ee’s will open around late 2026 or early 2027. The first location in North Carolina will reportedly create 225 full-time jobs when it opens and could add more jobs over time.

Construction on Virginia’s first Buc-ee’s started in January 2024 and is expected to open sometime in 2025, according to news outlet Virginia Business. The Rockingham County location is on I-81, will be 74,000 square feet and have 120 fueling positions.

A second Virginia location in New Kent County is currently under construction and will reportedly open in 2027. The project was awaiting funding from the state to expand the exit, according to ABC 8 News.

Work on the Huber Heights, Ohio location resumed last month after it was paused , reported WDTN. The pause created a “delay [that] only amounted to about three weeks, meaning it shouldn’t push back Buc-ee’s expected December 2025 completion date much, if at all,” wrote the outlet.

In Tennessee, the under-construction Murfreesboro location will be the Volunteer State's third Buc-ee's store, located 34 miles outside of Nashville, according to The Tennessean. The proposed plan includes a 76,245-square-foot building with 120 fuel pumps, 490 parking spots and room for 15 RVs and buses.

The first Buc-ee’s in Arizona is being built in Goodyear, and the location is expected to open at the end of 2025. The retailer is also currently working on its first location in the state of Arkansas, in Benton.
