The Kent Companies, owner of Kent Kwik convenience stores, has acquired Whit’s Grocery, a Midland, Texas store that has been in operation since 1983.
“Locally owned and deeply cherished, Whit’s has always stood for friendly service, great food and that unmistakable hometown spirit. It’s more than just a convenience store—it’s a piece of Midland’s community, and we’re beyond grateful to be part of its next chapter,” Kent Kwik said. “Our goal is to keep what makes Whit’s special while doing our part to serve the community just as it always has.”
The retailer also recently added grab & go chicken and waffles to its menu. “This new handheld favorite features a perfectly crisp piece of fried chicken sandwiched between two sweet, fluffy waffles … in both regular and spicy options,” the retailer said.
In March, the retailer launched a spring meal deal: a hot breakfast sandwich and a 12 oz Red Bull for $6.
Kent Kwik stores are a common sight across West Texas. In addition to its flagship convenience store banner, the Kent Companies also operates standalone restaurants, tire stores, a check cashing business, a fuel transportation fleet, a sign company, wholesale fuel accounts and even urgent care facilities.
