Maverik, which finalized its acquisition of Kum & Go in August 2023, announced that it plans to rebrand all Kum & Go stores.

In a statement to the Des Moines Register, Maverik said it is "in the process of rebranding Kum & Go stores, with the intent to unify our entire combined footprint under the Maverik brand." The company did not provide a timeline, instead telling the news outlet, “we are taking a thoughtful, market-by-market approach to ensure the best customer experience before confirming each state’s rebrand."

"Our focus is delivering a consistently elevated c-store experience—across fuel, rewards, foodservice, and inside-store offerings," it told the Register. "As we solidify our plans in each state, we will share those updates with you."

In August when the acquisition was finalized, Chuck Maggelet, Maverik’s then CEO and chief adventure guide, told NACS Daily that the plan was to convert Kum & Go locations in Utah, Colorado, and Idaho, with select sites in Wyoming. He had stated that the company would “continue to evaluate future changes.”

The first rebranded Kum & Go location opened in Draper, Utah in January 2024. In April, the company celebrated 30 completed rebrands across Utah and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Maverik celebrated the first anniversary of its acquisition of Kum & Go brands with a ceremony marking the completion of its Colorado rebrands. Crystal Maggelet, Maverik’s new CEO and chief adventure guide, joined the Denver community in celebrating the Colorado rebrands and a kickoff of store transformations in Wyoming.
