ANKENY, Iowa—Singer Lee Brice’s “Parking Lot Party” is an anthem of summertime gatherings for many country music fans, and Casey’s aims to tap into that carefree sense of celebration with special combo offers and a contest that could bring the ACM award-winning artist to the hometown of one of Casey’s lucky rewards members.
Now through September 7, Casey’s rewards members who purchase qualifying food, drinks and fuel will be automatically entered into the “Summer of Freedom” sweepstakes. Guests can sign up online or in the Casey’s mobile app and then save the “Summer of Freedom Sweepstakes” offer for another free entry and chance to win. Mail-in entries will be accepted as well.
To reinvigorate cold dispensed beverage sales, Casey’s is introducing the “Fountain Club” where every fifth fountain drink purchased is FREE. Casey’s also is giving its rewards members the chance to win millions of free prizes instantly, including food, drinks and bonus points.
Brice’s photo adorns fountain cups with a quote that’s a nod to one of his hits: “Love (Casey’s Pizza) like crazy.” Brice will headline two Casey’s combo deals:
- The Casey’s ‘Parking Lot Party’ pizza deal offers two single-topping pizzas, one order of new, made-from-scratch cheesy breadsticks and two, two-liter bottles of Casey’s soda for $24.99. Customers who order online can use the code: LEEBRICE.
- The Lee Brice Combo features Casey’s new barbecue chicken sandwich and a medium fountain drink for $5.
This is Casey’s second celebrity collaboration in recent months. In April, the convenience retailer—and fifth-largest pizza chain in the U.S.—announced it has teamed up with comedian Joel McHale to help spread the word about its new cheesy breadsticks.
Nearly 60% of Casey’s pizza orders are now placed digitally, either on the mobile app, website or via DoorDash, Casey’s told NACS Magazine in an interview earlier this year. Read more about Casey’s engagement plans in “Casey’s Leans Into Growth” in the just-released May issue of NACS Magazine.
Casey’s also is on a hiring spree. The convenience chain said it plans to hire 5,000 new team members on May 13 during its “Here For Good” hiring day at its nearly 2,300 stores with the goal of filling 5,000 positions across the 16 states where it operates.
“It’s a great time to join the Casey’s team—we are growing, which means opportunities for our team members to develop and build a career here. Plus, the summer season is the perfect time to pick up a flexible job with hours that can work around your schedule,” said Chad Frazell, Chief Human Resources Officer at Casey’s. “Casey’s is a place where you know the people visiting your store each day and enjoy being of service to our guests and communities.”
Meanwhile, Rutter’s, the York, Pa.-based convenience retailer with 79 locations, launched the 2021 VIP Summer Sweepstakes and plans to give away more than $50,000 in cash and prizes to VIP customers over the next four months.
“We love rewarding our loyal customers with the chance to win prizes, while enjoying some of their favorite items from Rutter’s,” said Robert Perkins, vice president of marketing, Rutter’s. “After a difficult summer in 2020 for many of our customers, we’re excited to provide them with some fun to ‘take back summer’!”
