ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Eleven of the top 20 brands, as ranked by Morning Consult in their report Fastest Growing Brand of 2019, are in the food and beverage or delivery industries. Brands are measured by the number of consumers who say they would consider purchasing a brand throughout the year and ranked accordingly.
Food Dive reported on the findings, highlighting that White Claw was the second fastest growing brand, while Impossible Foods came in fourth, and Kind Snacks ranked sixth. Nesquik, Trolli and 100 Grand came in at 16th, 17th and 18th, respectively.
White Claw’s success in making hard seltzer a top beverage choice this year can be attributed to its successful social media presence and popularity among millennials. Another top category that took the foodservice industry by storm? Plant-based meat. With Beyond Meat and the Impossible Burger, the market continues to expand in grocery stores and fast food chains.
Americans also love their snacks. Top brands like Kind Snacks focused on health benefits and creating better-for-you options while Trolli and 100 Grand are still popular as a sweet option.
The common thread among these top performing brands was solid marketing, a focus on target audiences and on-trend products and packaging.
