Wawa will open its first store in Nashville on Thursday, November 19, as it continues its expansion in the state of Tennessee, the retailer recently announced. The Nashville location is the sixth Wawa store to open in Tennessee this year.
In 2026, Wawa opened Tennessee stores in Clarksville, Dickson, Murfreesboro, Lebanon and Manchester. Two additional stores are planned for Nashville and Murfreesboro for a total of seven stores in the state, the retailer said. Over the next ten years, Wawa said it plans to build and open more than 50 stores in the state. “To build each store, Wawa will invest more than $7.5 million and employ, on average, 140 contractors and local partners. Once open, each store will employ an average of 35 associates, with Wawa expecting to create 1,800 new, long-term new jobs,” the retailer said.
Meanwhile in Utah, Holiday Oil celebrated the grand opening of its newest Tooele location with a Halloween-themed community event on Friday, October 30. “The Halloween-themed grand opening celebration took place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 30, featuring a trunk-or-treat-style celebration and costume parade. The event provided an opportunity for community members to visit the new location, enjoy Halloween festivities and get a first look at the store's amenities,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
Leading up to the grand opening, Holiday Oil also hosted Fuel Day on Tuesday, October 27, offering customers the opportunity to save up to 50 cents per gallon per transaction throughout the day. Discounts included 40 cents off per gallon for MyHoliday members, an additional 5 cents off per gallon when purchasing fuel through the app and another 5 cents off per gallon when using MyRed payment.
