Tennessee-based Weigel’s is continuing to celebrate its 95th anniversary with “one of its most heritage-driven initiatives of the summer: awarding 95 guests with Free Milk for a Year each month throughout May, June and July,” the retailer announced.
The sweepstakes will award 285 total winners. Each winner will receive one gallon of Weigel’s milk per week for a year, loaded directly to their MyWeigel’s Rewards account.
The retailer said the 95 Milk for a Year Sweepstakes was created to honor Weigel’s dairy roots, celebrating a legacy that began in Powell, Tennessee at Broadacre Dairy. The company has grown into one that today operates 90 stores across East Tennessee while remaining one of the oldest operating dairies in the Southeast.
“For nearly a century, milk has remained central to the Weigel’s story. From becoming the first dairy in East Tennessee to distribute pasteurized milk to pioneering fresh-to-jug production within 24 hours, dairy continues to be one of the company’s most iconic offerings,” Weigel’s said.
Weigel’s said it has begun notifying its first group of winners through email and mobile push notifications through a partnership with PDI Experience Designer. Guests can enter by purchasing Weigel’s milk using MyWeigel’s Rewards, redeeming 250 MyWeigel’s Rewards points, or through a mail-in entry option.
The Milk for a Year program is part of Weigel’s broader Summer 95 sweepstakes lineup, which also includes opportunities to win a Can-Am Maverick, Sea-Doo Fish Pro, 1 Million Bonus Points, Free Gas for a Year, Free Dinner for a Year, Free Delivery for a Year, Free Car Wash for a Year and additional vendor-supported prizes throughout the summer.
The summer campaign kickoff generated record app usage, the company said. The campaign’s first week, which included Cinco De Mayo and its associated promotions, produced the highest weekly app usage period in company history, with unique app users increasing 13% year over year and total app sessions increasing 30% year over year, according to the company.
