PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew announced a limited-edition commemorative can bundle featuring a design inspired by the brand's heritage story, available for purchase for a limited time on TikTok Shop.
“Mountain Dew brought its founding story to life in a digital creative spot that takes viewers on a time-traveling journey back to 1948 Tennessee. The commemorative can continues that story, featuring the brand's history printed directly on the label. Inspired by a mention in the spot Big Spender, the commemorative can bundle is available for $0.05,” the brand said. In reference to 1948, 1,948 bundles drop on TikTok Shop spread out over three days: June 29, June 30 and July 1.
Earlier this year, Mountain Dew introduced American Dew, a limited-edition wrapped can and bottle available throughout the summer. The limited-edition packaging renames the brand as a tribute to America 250.
Also at PepsiCo, to celebrate the nationwide launch of Mug Root Beer Floats Vanilla Howler, the brand's first limited-time flavor, Mug has tapped hip-hop artist Yung Gravy for a root beer float-inspired track, "Float Float Baby.” The video features Yung Gravy and Mug mascot Dog for the parody twist on the song "Ice Ice Baby."
Mug Root Beer Floats Vanilla Howler hit U.S. stores nationwide on June 14, bringing together the “bold taste of Mug Root Beer with an indulgent, creamy flavor for a dirty soda inspired root beer float on the go. Mug Floats Vanilla Howler is available this summer in both original and zero sugar, in 12 oz can multipacks and 20 oz single-serve bottles.”
Meanwhile at Bubly, also owned by PepsiCo, Bubly sparkling water is celebrating its “nostalgic summer-exclusive flavor, Melted Ice Pop, [by] partnering with millennial heartthrob actor Chad Michael Murray for a Y2K-inspired social campaign and limited-edition product bundle designed to send fans straight back to their first summer crush,” the brand said.
Bubly Melted Ice Pop is a limited-time sparkling water flavor inspired by red, white and blue ice pops, with a blend of cherry, lime and raspberry flavor. It will be available nationwide for a limited summer run only.
In the digital campaign, “Murray stars alongside creator, podcast host and self-proclaimed ‘90s and 00s historian’ Erin Miller in a Y2K-inspired social video that brings the first-crush fantasy to life. Inspired by the nostalgic taste of Bubly Melted Ice Pop and set to the 2005 hit song ‘Dirty Little Secret’ by The All-American Rejects,” the brand said.
