PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew is launching a new campaign: “An American Original – Tasting Great Since ’48,” which the company said honors its Tennessee roots and “the citrus taste that has defined Mountain Dew since 1948,” a spokesperson for the brand told NACS.
Mountain Dew is also introducing American Dew as part of the campaign, a limited-edition wrapped can and bottle available throughout the summer. The limited-edition packaging renames the brand as a tribute to the country’s 250th birthday this July.
The launch of American Dew also gives fans a chance to win thousands of $250 cash prizes.
Also at PepsiCo, the Mug Root Beer brand today launched its limited-run Mug Root Beer “Brotein bundle” , which comes with Mug Zero Sugar, a vanilla protein shake and exclusive Mug gym essentials such as a shaker bottle, gym bag and Mug tank.
The company teamed up with San Francisco 49ers NFL player George Kittle for the campaign. “Some may call it ‘dirty protein,’ but for certified Mug maniacs like San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, Mug Brotein is the ultimate cheat code: big flavor, big shake energy and a playful flex,” the company said.
Over at Kraft Heinz, Capri Sun is expanding its portfolio with Capri Sun Hydrate , “one of the first-to-market drinks with electrolytes designed specifically for kids. Rolling out to major retailers nationwide, Capri Sun Hydrate delivers an essential blend of electrolytes and Vitamin E, with 50% less sugar than the leading regular sports drinks and no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives,” the company said.
Capri Sun Hydrate is available in three flavors: fruit punch, tropical punch and all-new lemon lime.
