RaceTrac is celebrating 15 years of partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation with its annual Run for Research on September 26 at The Battery in Atlanta. One hundred percent of registration fees from the event will benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation, RaceTrac said in a press release sent to NACS.

Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the one-mile run or 5K race. Race participants will cross the finish line on the baseball field inside Truist Park in Atlanta. An awards ceremony will follow, and t-shirts and vendor samples are included with the price of registration. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual 5K option is available through September 26 for $20.

Each year, approximately 90,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, joining more than one million Americans currently living with the disorder. The cause is deeply personal for RaceTrac: the late chairman emeritus Carl Bolch, Jr. and his father, company founder Carl Bolch, Sr., both lived with Parkinson’s, and their legacies continue to drive RaceTrac’s dedication to the cause, the company said.

The retailer has partnered with the Michael J. Fox Foundation since 2011 through initiatives like Coffee for a Cause Week and Run for Research. The two surpassed the $10 million fundraising mark earlier this year.

“Our contributions to The Michael J. Fox Foundation wouldn’t be possible without the help of our amazing field and corporate teams who carry out these initiatives, encouraging guest participation, giving personally and joining our annual 5K. As in years past, 100% of registration fees will benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation,” RaceTrac said.
