ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Nationally syndicated columnist and humorist Dave Barry will be the featured speaker at this year’s NACS Day on the Hill, taking place March 12-13. Formerly known as the Government Relations Conference, NACS Day on the Hill brings the convenience retailing industry together to advocate and educate lawmakers about the unique issues facing convenience stores.

“We’re looking forward to hosting an evening with Dave, during which he will make fun of politics, the government, current events—pretty much everything!” said Lyle Beckwith, senior vice president of government relations for NACS. “Attendees will also get a chance to chat with Dave after his talk.”

For many years, Barry wrote a newspaper column, for which he won a Pulitzer Prize for commentary, and more than 30 books, including the novels Big Trouble, Lunatics, Tricky Business and Insane City. He has also written nonfiction books, such as I'll Mature When I'm Dead and the recent Best. State. Ever.: A Florida Man Defends His Homeland.

Congressional members and staffers love to hear directly from constituents like you, and NACS Day on the Hill makes it easy and convenient to let them know how current and potential legislation impacts your business. Registration is now open for the 2019 NACS Day on the Hill, which takes place on Capitol Hill and at the Intercontinental Washington DC—The Warf.

NACS serves the global convenience and fuel retailing industry by providing industry knowledge, connections and issues leadership to ensure the competitive viability of its members’ businesses.
