Wawa is set to announce a “westward Virginia expansion plan” on April 1, according to local news outlet NBC 10.
“Wawa said that it will provide an update on sites in the region and general timeframes for construction, investment in local communities and market projection. Wawa will also share details about the economic impact of expansion and announce its support of local non-profit partners,” wrote NBC 10. The event will be followed by a groundbreaking on its new Lynchburg, Virginia store.
Wawa also recently opened its doors to two new Georgia locations, both located in the town of Hinesville, on “complete opposite ends of the city,” according to local news outlet WTOC.
Refuel opened two new locations in South Carolina this month, one in Summerville and the other in Ridgeville.
“This [Summerville] store didn’t come to life overnight—it’s the result of incredible teamwork, dedication and months of hard work. From construction to stocking shelves and fine-tuning every detail, this milestone wouldn’t have been possible without our hardworking team members, dedicated vendors and partners, and the support of the amazing Summerville community,” Refuel said in LinkedIn post about the new Summerville location.
Sheetz continues to work on its expansion into the Detroit metro area. It recently broke ground on its second location in Michigan. “The store is slated to open this summer on 23 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township. The company received approval for the location from township officials in March, 2024,” according to a LinkedIn post.
Stewart’s Shops opened a new location in Hoosick Falls, New York, this week, reported local outlet News 10. “The newly rebuilt shop is a relocation of a Stewart’s space that originally sat down the street, said Stewart’s Public Relations Manager Robin Cooper. The old shop was smaller, land-locked and had no gas pumps or room to expand, leading the company to look for another facility.”
