National Hot Dog Day is on July 16, and retailers are celebrating with deals and offerings.
Rutter’s is adding six new hot dogs to their summer menu for a limited time, per a press release sent to NACS. Rutter’s hot dogs are supplied by Berks, a third generation, family-owned and operated meat processor located in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The new hot dog options are:
- BLT Dog: The BLT Dog has crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, diced tomato and creamy mayo over a classic hot dog in a bun.
- Fried Pickle Dog: The Fried Pickle Dog has a fried pickle spear, banana yellow peppers, mustard and fresh tomatoes.
- Cuban Dog: The Cuban Dog is stacked with pulled pork and sliced ham topped with melty Swiss cheese.
- Cheese Dog: Nacho cheese anchors the Cheese Dog, which is loaded with diced onions and peppers.
- Reuben Dog: Includes corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island Dressing.
- Spicy Slaw Sausage: The Spicy Slaw Sausage has smoked hot sausage, mango habanero heat, coleslaw and jalapenos.
Love’s Travel Stops is offering customers a free hot dog each day from July 14-18 at select locations in 42 states, according to a statement sent to NACS. Customers can redeem the offer each day during the week through Love’s Connect App.
Meanwhile, EG America is offering guests two hot dogs for $3 all week at EG America locations nationwide, the retailer told NACS.
Over at Circle K, on Wednesday, July 16, customers can grab two roller grill hot dogs for $1 through the Circle K app.
7-Eleven is rolling out exclusive offers on Big Bite hot dogs at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide. From July 8 through July 22, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can get Big Bite hot dogs for $2 as part of the brand’s Slurpee $1 Days program.
Rewards members can also get a $5 Meal Deal, which includes two Value Grill items or one Big Bite hot dog, a bag of 7-Select Chips and a large Big Gulp.
Minuteman Food Mart is celebrating National Hot Dog Day by bringing back its Dollar Dog Days of Summer, according to a press release sent to NACS. From now through September 9, Minuteman Rewards members can get $1 hot dogs at participating Minuteman Kitchen hot dog locations.
“It’s going to be a doggone good summer, seeing our Rewards members take part in this special hot dog offer,” said Ed Bitondo, vice president, convenience store operations, Minuteman. “Our guests love quick, tasty and affordable options, and this is just another way we’re making summer stops more rewarding.”
TravelCenters of America is also celebrating by offering guests a free hot dog with the purchase of any size fountain drink. The deal is only available on July 16, with a limit of one per customer while supplies last.
Sheetz announced that it will celebrate National Hot Dog Day by giving away two free hot dogs to customers who purchase a minimum of 10 gallons of any fuel grade in a single transaction. The deal will be available from now through July 22.
