Rutter’s was recently certified by Great Place To Work. The award is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience working at Rutter’s, according to a press release from Rutter’s sent to NACS.

Great Place To Work is the “global authority on workplace culture, employee experience and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation,” the company stated.

"Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience," said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, the vice president of global recognition at Great Place To Work. She emphasized that Great Place To Work certification is the sole official recognition earned by the real-time feedback of employees regarding their company culture. “By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Rutter’s stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees."

“We are thrilled to become Great Place To Work-Certified as we consider employee experience a top priority every day,” said Rutter’s President and CEO, Scott Hartman. “We owe our continued success to our team of dedicated employees at Rutter’s. We celebrate and thank them for all they do to earn this incredible recognition.”

In line with its “employee-first philosophy,” Rutter’s said it rewards its team through competitive wages, continuous benefits enhancements and investment in training and development. “This focus on professional growth and career advancement ensures that Rutter’s attracts and retains top talent in the industry,” Rutter’s said.

In other recent Rutter’s news, the retailer broke ground on its first Virginia location in December 2024. Rutter’s said the new 13,500-square-foot store will be located at the intersection of Route 50 and Covestone Drive in Winchester.

The company “expects to open this new location in the middle of 2025, in conjunction with the development by The Meridian Group in the area,” said Rutter’s.
