Carolina-Based Retailer Opens 64th Store

Wawa, Love’s and EG America are also working on new locations.

Minuteman Food Mart held a grand opening of its newest store in Vass, North Carolina, marking the brand’s 64th location across the Carolinas, according to a press release sent to NACS. The celebration featured promotions, giveaways and on-site brand partners.

“We are thrilled to open our doors in Vass and become part of the Moore County community,” said Ed Bitondo, vice president, convenience store operations. “This location brings together the best of Minuteman Food Mart, from fresh made chicken to convenient fuel and food offerings, all delivered with our commitment to refreshing, fast, and friendly service.”

Over at Wawa, the retailer will host a grand opening date for its second Louisville store on September 5, reported news outlet WLKY. “Wawa plans to open up to eight stores in Kentucky by the end of 2025 and aims to build between five and eight new locations annually in the years to come, with more than 40 stores planned across the state,” the report stated.

Wawa is also continuing its Ohio expansion with a grand opening this week with its new location in Mason, Ohio, reported local news outlet Warren County Post.

“Wawa continues its expansion into Ohio with a grand opening event in Mason, marking Wawa’s first store in Warren County. During the event, the company will be joined by hundreds of customers, local officials, first responders and community partners,” the outlet reported.

Also in Ohio, Sheetz is continuing its expansion across greater Cincinnati with a new property in Blue Ash, wrote Fox 19. Sheetz “is planning to build a 6,200-square-foot food and convenience store, drive-thru and gas station at 4700 Ashwood Drive, a site currently occupied by a vacant office building,” the report said.

Love’s celebrated the reopening of its remodeled store in southwest Oklahoma City, according to a LinkedIn post.

EG America broke ground on a new Cumberland Farms store concept in Panama City, Florida, per a LinkedIn post.

“The new site will be larger and offer innovative on-the-go food items, numerous fueling stations, a car wash and more. In addition, the company plans to hire 50-75 team members to manage the new location, which is a win for both us and the local economy. This will be our eighth location in the Panama City area, further expanding our footprint in a growing market,” the retailer said in the post.
