QSRs Hop on the Pickle Bandwagon

Popeyes launched a new pickle menu this week, according to a press release. “We started with our world-famous Chicken Sandwich, then got creative with new, pickle-packed items that bring a punch of flavor in every bite. Whether you like your pickles crispy, saucy, or even in your drink, we’ve got something for you,” the QSR said in a press release.

Per Popeyes, the menu items include:

• Pickle glaze sandwich: “A briny twist on the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. Featuring crispy, hand-battered chicken coated in a zesty pickle glaze, topped with thick-cut pickles and served on a toasted brioche bun.”
• Pickle glaze bone-in wings: “The signature bone-in wings are tossed in a bold, tangy pickle-infused glaze.”
• Pickle glaze boneless wings: “Hand-battered boneless wings drenched in a pickle glaze.”
• Fried pickles: “Crispy, golden-brown fried pickles are battered in Popeyes’ signature seasoning and fried to perfection, served with a side of creamy ranch dipping sauce.”
• Pickle lemonade: “This sweet-yet-savory lemonade is infused with real pickle juice for a surprisingly addictive sip.”

The Popeyes Pickle Menu is available in restaurants nationwide.

Dutch Bros Coffee is also leaning into the pickle craze. The QSR’s new pickleback Rebel is “a dill-iciously bold new energy drink for pickle lovers and curious customers alike. The pickleback Rebel is a pickle juice twist on our exclusive Dutch Bros Rebel energy drink for a truly unique flavor experience,” the coffee chain said in a press release.

The pickleback Rebel debuted on April Fools' Day at all 1,000-plus Dutch Bros locations, and is available while supplies last.

Earlier this week, NACS Daily reported that Wawa has added Dill Pickle Ranch to its menu. The pickle-infused ranch sauce is an option on breakfast, lunch and dinner items. In addition, Wawa has also added crispy pickles to its menu.

A few of the items available with Wawa’s Dill Pickle Ranch sauce include the Dill Pickle Ranch breakfast hoagie made with scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon and Dill Pickle Ranch on a long roll; the Dill Pickle Ranch breaded chicken wrap with breaded chicken, cheese, crispy pickles and lettuce; a Dill Pickle Ranch pizza; and a Dill Pickle Ranch breaded chicken mac and cheese, which is a macaroni and cheese bowl topped with breaded chicken strips, crispy pickles and Dill Pickle Ranch sauce.
