The Sheetz MTO (Made-To-Order) program has earned the title of “Coolest Thing Made in PA (Pennsylvania),” according to a press release sent to NACS. The Altoona-based retailer defeated Crayola Crayons in the state-wide voting competition’s final round, the retailer said.

The competition featured 64 teams across various industries in the state, with nominees determined following months of public input.

This year’s contest reportedly generated more than 65,000 votes via the Pennsylvania Chamber’s X, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn pages, amassing more than 500,000 social media impressions.

“We are honored and so grateful to be named the ‘Coolest Thing in Pennsylvania,’” said Sheetz EVP of Marketing and Supply Chain Ryan Sheetz. “Our MTOs have been fueling Sheetz Runs for almost 40 years across the Commonwealth, bringing value, customization, and variety to Sheetz Freakz everywhere—24/7/365!”

“From our public bracket unveiling in March to reveling in the close matchups over these last several weeks and seeing the voters weigh in, this year’s contest wasn’t only fun but also showcased Pennsylvania’s excellence in manufacturing, consumer engagement, and brand loyalty,” said Pennsylvania Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein. “We love hosting this annual contest to remind people how many incredible products are made here and beloved across the Commonwealth, the nation, and worldwide.”

Earlier this month, Sheetz was named to Fortune’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For, developed in collaboration with Great Place to Work. “This marks Sheetz’s 10th straight year being named to this prestigious workplace list. Sheetz is ranked 40th and is the only convenience chain included on this year’s list,” the retailer said.

This list recognizes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures and high employee satisfaction, measured through Great Place To Work’s proprietary survey platform, confidential feedback from more than 1.3 million employees in the U.S., and HR data from companies.
