Dandy Mini Marts has partnered with Tesla for the installation of an EV charging station at its store in Elmira, New York, according to a press release. Dandy says this is its first EV charging station. It became fully operational in September.
The 250-kilowatt Tesla Supercharger stations will offer pumps with Majic Dock adapters compatible with all electric vehicle charging ports, according to Dandy.
“We’re thrilled to bring electric vehicle charging to our Dandy locations,” commented Dyson Williams, vice president of Dandy. “As we continue to grow, we’re committed to innovating and providing convenience for everyone, whether they’re fueling up or charging up.”
Dandy’s location in Elmira “sits between several metropolitan areas in the Southern Tier of New York, such as Corning, Watkins Glen, Ithaca and Binghamton, where there is a sufficient market of electric vehicle owners.”
According to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, this location will be the only convenience store with an electric vehicle charging station within a 50-mile radius.
For the entire month of October, Dandy is also featuring pink cups for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the entire month of October, Dandy donates 20 cents from the sale of each large coffee sold in a Dandy pink cup.
The money will go to the Guthrie Breast Care Fund, which provides “financial assistance for breast care patients to access needed services not covered by insurance like breast imaging, medications, post-surgical supplies and diagnostic testing.”
Dandy Mini Marts is based out of Pennsylvania and has over 60 locations across the Northeast.
Earlier this year, Dandy launched online ordering at select Dandy locations. The service allows customers to choose between picking up their order at the store or having it delivered directly to their house.
