Amazon announced that Prime members “can now save $0.10 per gallon at approximately 7,000 BP, Amoco and ampm gas stations across the United States,” according to a company press release.
Additionally, in 2025, Amazon plans to add an electric vehicle charging savings offer with BP Pulse, BP’s electric vehicle charging business, with more details to be revealed next year.
“We’re constantly looking to add more value for Prime members and perhaps the broadest and most popular additional benefit we could offer is fuel savings—we’re excited to give this to Prime members,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.
Prime members can activate the offer on the Amazon website. Customers need a Prime membership and a free Earnify account with BP. Activating the offer will connect a member’s Amazon account and Earnify account, according to Amazon.
CNN notes that the “fuel discount offering is Prime’s latest addition to its laundry list of member benefits, which span music and video streaming services, food and grocery delivery, and even medical care and prescription drug savings. And in a world where membership programs now seem practically ubiquitous, the move represents Amazon’s efforts to stay ahead of the game.”
BP launched the Earnify app earlier this month, which “aims to simplify and reward fueling and shopping by integrating an intuitive loyalty program and a streamlined user experience,” according to the company.
According to BP, based on extensive consumer research, Earnify “goes beyond simply rewarding fuel purchases, aiming to deliver a seamless, integrated and rewarding experience for users, both at the pump and in-store.”
