WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—Wawa plans to hire 2,000 new associates in Florida in early 2022, reports WPTV. The Wawa, Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain says it will hire full-time and part-time associates due to an influx of Florida residents in the winter and spring months and store growth across Wawa's Florida operations.
Wawa starts pay at $15 an hour for hourly store associates and all full- and part-time employees receive financial and personal benefits, health and wellness benefits, tuition reimbursement and a 401(k) match.
Wawa plans to open 20 new stores in Florida this year. The c-store has expanded substantially in the past decade and currently has more than 230 locations in Florida.
"We are excited to continue growing our Florida presence as we approach our 10th anniversary of serving our friends and neighbors in the Sunshine State later this year. As we expand our stores, services and product offer, we are thrilled to provide new jobs and advancement opportunities for our associates," Stephanie Capaccio, director of people team operations at Wawa, told WPTV.
Wawa landed the No. 12 spot on Forbes’ Halo 100 list, which highlights brands that deliver the experience that customers want to have. The list measures how well and how responsibly brands are serving their U.S. customers.
