ANKENY, Iowa—Casey’s announced the addition of a breakfast lineup to its foodservice menu, a first for the Ankeny, Iowa-based convenience and fuel retailer. The lineup features three breakfast items: the Signature Handheld, Loaded Breakfast Burrito and Loaded Breakfast bowl.
“Our goal with the new lineup is to make our guests’ days better with fresh coffee and a warm, delicious breakfast that fits easily into their morning routine,” said Michelle Wickham, vice president of prepared food at Casey’s, in a press release.
The Signature Handheld is a portable breakfast option with eggs, sausage or bacon and two types of cheese wrapped in Casey’s made-from-scratch dough (the same dough the retailer uses for its famous pizza). The Loaded Breakfast Burrito is a tortilla filled with eggs, shredded potatoes, bacon and sausage crumbles and cheese, and the Loaded Breakfast Bowl contains the same ingredients as the burrito but without the tortilla.
Casey’s new breakfast offerings come from Casey’s new test kitchen under the direction of Wickham, who was hired in April 2020 and is a restaurant business veteran with over 30 years in the business, according to the Des Moines Register. Wickham recruited Chef Farrokh Larijani, and Hannah Su, a former quality assurance executive with Starbucks, and the breakfast lineup is a first for the kitchen.
"We’re really serious about our food program,” Larijani told the Des Moines Register.

To generate excitement around the new menu, Casey’s is offering:
- A free small coffee from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 with any purchase using Casey’s Rewards to celebrate the entire week of National Coffee Day, celebrated on October 1 (guests must save the offer in their Rewards account); and
- A free small coffee by joining Casey’s Rewards beginning September 22, the first day of fall, (offer will be applied automatically; valid for 10 days after joining).
