BLACKBURN, United Kingdom—EG Group announced today that it has agreed to purchase all 34 of Sprint Food Stores Inc.’s fuel and convenience store locations in Georgia and South Carolina, plus the Sprint Kitchen foodservice brand. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Sprint Food Stores is headed by Andy Jones, president and CEO. “We have built a solid and thriving business over the past 24 years and are proud of everything we have accomplished,” Jones said. “The hard work and commitment of our team members have been the most important factors contributing to our success. EG Group is a highly innovative and growth-oriented company, and we are confident they will leverage both their expertise and the dedication of Sprint Team Members to ensure these stores thrive even more.”
As EG continues to expand in the U.S., the deal to acquire Sprint moves the fast-growing convenience retailer into two additional states and gives EG more than 1,750 sites across 33 states.
EG said the Sprint Kitchen proprietary foodservice brand will complement its existing foodservice program in the U.S. Sprint Kitchen offers a wide selection of made-in-store hot food items including fried chicken, pizza and breakfast options.
