CANTON, Mass.—Dunkin’ is getting the new year off to an energetic start with Extra Charged Coffee, which it says has 20% more caffeine than Dunkin’s classic hot and iced coffee, according to a company press release. From now through Jan. 26, a medium cup of Extra Charged Coffee will be $2.
"Heading into January, people could use a little extra of a lot of things, including extra encouragement, extra energy and extra excitement," Dunkin' stated in the release.
The perky new LTO is available hot or iced and includes green coffee extract, which provides the extra caffeination. In addition, the company will brew and serve two additional coffee blends, Dunkin' Midnight and Explorer Batch, which are available only hot.
Midnight is described as "the brand’s darkest roast ever with a rich, smooth, full-bodied flavor enhanced by notes of decadent cocoa and an intensely dark finish." Explorer Batch is the first coffee to be introduced in Dunkin's Limited Batch Series and is a medium roast with dark berry notes and a smoky finish.
