February 05, 2021

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The greatest tool for convenience and fuel retailers, the NACS State of the Industry (SOI) of 2020 Data survey, is in the works, and NACS needs your help to make it happen with your data submission today. This annual benchmarking of the fuel and convenience industry provides hard numbers for retailers to better understand the overall industry’s business metrics, along with insights and analytics to build on success in the future.

It’s easy! Just download the firm-level data submission form provided here. Most companies complete it in just a few hours.

“NACS has been taking the pulse of the industry for 50 years as a way for retailers to benchmark against other businesses,” said Chris Rapanick, NACS director of business development. “Since then, the SOI annual report has become important to other industry stakeholders, such as suppliers and investment firms. But last year, NACS used the SOI report to show Congress and state legislators just how essential convenience stores were—thus, naming convenience stores as essential businesses and allowing us to stay open during lockdowns.”

Survey participants will receive:

  • Two access licenses to the NACS State of the Industry Report® of 2020 Data.
  • One complimentary registration to the 2021 NACS State of the Industry Summit held on April 14, 2021, as a live, virtual event.
  • A custom report of your company’s data in comparison to the State of the Industry 2020 aggregate data metrics to assist your internal analysis of your performance.

“With the 2020 SOI, we’re establishing a new baseline for our industry,” Rapanick said. “It’s important this year for everyone’s voice to be heard, whether you have a thousand stores or one store. Everyone has a different story to tell—don’t let yours be left out of the 2020 SOI.”

As with all sensitive company data, NACS SOI Survey data are kept completely confidential and will only be used in aggregate for analysis with data from other participating retail companies.
