ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Government officials often rely on business representatives to provide feedback on how legislation can either help or hurt specific industries. By meeting with congressional offices at the 2021 NACS Day on the Hill event, convenience industry retailers will have a chance to speak directly with legislators and share how what happens on Capitol Hill affects their businesses.
Due to the pandemic, these live meetings will be held virtually this year. Our NACS team is working hard to ensure business leaders can still make the most of the occasion. Once retailers sign up for Day on the Hill, NACS takes care of everything to ensure they can deliver their information effectively. We start by teaming up returning members with newer attendees in order to combine experience with the fresh new voices that are so desperately needed for messages to be delivered with the most impact.
Participants are then briefed on the issues facing the convenience industry today and how lawmakers’ decisions will affect them. Finally, since we know that speaking to congressional leaders can seem like a daunting task even to those who have done it before, we offer professional advocacy training so that contributors can make the most of this amazing opportunity.
With the seating of a new Congress, it’s more important than ever that we take the time to educate Washington on how their decisions affect us all. Convenience retailers both big and small can now have a direct hand in addressing the challenges their businesses face today as well as protecting themselves in the future.
Registration for the 2021 Virtual NACS Day on the Hill is open now until Friday, February 26. The event will take place from March 23-24, 2021.
