ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Suppliers can learn more about the recently announced NACS next-generation age-verification program that will revolutionize the way retailers check consumers’ ages in a webinar scheduled for June 18.
NACS created the new webinar following strong response to the retailer-focused webinars that are scheduled for today and Thursday. The webinars are designed for operators and IT professionals within retailer and vendor companies to fully understand how the new age-verification system will function and help benefit their business and the industry overall.
Announced May 18, the new, groundbreaking initiative is slated to deploy by year’s end. The NACS age-verification system will provide a no-cost solution that enables retailers to effectively and securely verify age at points of purchase and delivery, while staying ahead of technology. It will allow retailers to be better positioned to comply with age-verification regulations, reduce compliance risk and comply with emerging data privacy regulations. NACS created the system in partnership with Conexxus, age-restricted consumer goods manufacturers and a leading digital identity services provider.
The supplier webinar will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday, June 18, and is heavily based on the content that was developed for this week’s retailer-focused webinars. Suppliers also will be able to ask questions and provide insights to initiative team managers.
“We received overwhelming interest from Conexxus and NACS supplier members on our age-verification initiative. The initial retailer-focused webinars were designed with a particular focus on policy and the process of age verification. Our supplier-focused webinar will also provide the same overview of the age-verification initiative and detail the supplier integration touch points that are emerging, especially APIs,” said Conexxus Executive Director Gray Taylor.
