Conexxus and IFSF Announce Transition to Independent Standards Development

Conexxus and the International Forecourt Standards Forum (IFSF) today announced their decision to terminate the Global Standards Development and Cross Licensing Agreement that has previously governed their collaborative standards development activities.

The organizations have agreed to implement an orderly transition plan designed to protect the interests of their respective members while allowing both organizations to pursue their individual strategic priorities.

Since the inception of their collaboration, Conexxus and IFSF have worked together to develop and promote standards that improve interoperability and data exchange across the global convenience and retail fueling industries. The collaboration has produced a significant body of work, including standards, technical guidance, tools and processes that have supported industry modernization and innovation.

Following careful review, both organizations concluded that the current cross licensing and joint development framework no longer aligns with the evolving needs and priorities of their respective memberships. As regional market requirements and strategic objectives have evolved, the parties determined that greater independence will enable each organization to respond more effectively to the specific requirements of its members. This decision reflects a strategic evolution in the relationship between the two organizations, rather than a departure from their shared commitment to industry standards and interoperability.

Under the agreed separation framework, both organizations will retain rights to standards, work products and tools developed through their joint efforts and will be able to continue maintaining and enhancing those assets independently. The transition is being structured to minimize disruption and preserve continuity for members and existing users of these standards and resources.

Each organization will communicate additional information to its members regarding future standards development activities, resources and transition details as appropriate.
