7-Eleven Announces Annual Bring Your Own Cup Day

7-Eleven is rolling out its annual Bring Your Own Cup (BYOC) Day on Saturday, September 19, where “customers can fill up their cup with any Slurpee drink flavor for $1.99” at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores.

“A fan-favorite tradition where the cup becomes as fun as the flavors inside, BYOC Day gives customers the chance to bring their craziest container and make it the star of their Slurpee drink run. From popcorn buckets and bike helmets to fish bowls and flower vases—the more unexpected, the better,” the retailer said.

7-Eleven highlighted that containers must be clean, watertight, leak-proof and able to stand upright within the 10-inch cutout in stores to ensure they fit under the Slurpee drink dispenser.

“Every year, Bring Your Own Cup Day challenges the definition of what a cup can truly be, and our customers never cease to amaze us,” said Brandon Brown, senior vice president, fresh foods and beverages at 7-Eleven Inc. “For one day only, we’re inviting customers to bring their wackiest cup, fill it with their favorite flavor and show us just how creative a Slurpee run can get.”

For a limited time, 7-Eleven said it is also bringing back the bold Mountain Dew Slurpee drink.

Earlier this year, the retailer celebrated its annual Slurpee Day on July 11. The drink turned 60 and celebrated with its annual tradition of offering customers a free small Slurpee drink.

This year's Slurpee Day celebration introduced a brand-new flavor: the limited-time Mountain Dew Confetti Chill Slurpee. “Inspired by birthday cake with a citrusy twist, the beverage blends bright citrus flavor with notes of sweet vanilla icing, giving fans a zesty lemon cake treat in frozen drink form. Fans can enjoy the limited-time flavor in the commemorative 60th Anniversary Slurpee Day cups and top off the frozen beverage with pink, green and blue sugar crystals for an extra pop of color, sweetness and festive fun.”
