VenHub, an operator of 24/7 autonomous convenience stores, has partnered with Follett Higher Education, an educational service provider and the largest campus retailer in North America, to expand VenHub’s footprint and deploy its Smart Stores across Follett-served college and university campuses in the United States, according to a press release.
VenHub said its autonomous store model can support locations at residence halls, student centers, athletic facilities, arenas, transit areas, satellite campuses and other high-traffic campus settings. Each college or university Smart Store can be customized with the institution’s colors, logos, and branding.
VenHub Smart Stores are expected to offer convenience products and everyday essentials, officially licensed apparel, accessories and gifts, and seasonal, event and game-day merchandise.
“Follett has built an exceptional campus retail presence and a deep understanding of the products, services, and experiences that campus communities value,” said Shahan Ohanessian, founder and CEO of VenHub. “Together, we are creating a scalable autonomous retail channel that can expand the deployment of our Smart Stores across college and university campuses and help bring Follett’s trusted merchandise and campus essentials into more locations. Our Smart Stores already serve customers beyond conventional store hours at high-traffic locations such as LAX and Union Station, and with this new partnership, we are looking forward to meeting students and visitors where they already live, learn, and gather.”
VenHub also plans to expand its Smart Stores into multifamily residential buildings. This month, it announced plans for deployments in Penn Lofts, a new 59-unit multifamily development in Bend, Oregon, and a location on North Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Multifamily residential communities represent a significant growth opportunity for VenHub, and we are seeing increasing demand from developers and property owners who recognize the value of bringing autonomous retail directly into their communities,” said Ohanessian. “Residents increasingly expect convenience to be built into where they live. Our flexible platform helps owners meet that expectation with a distinctive, highly visible amenity that adds value for residents and helps properties stand out – from smaller communities to larger multifamily developments.”
In February, Venhub debuted on debuted on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker symbol “VHUB.”
