Preventing underage access to tobacco products is not a new commitment for the Reynolds American organization (Reynolds American). The organization has, among other things, been a founding partner of We Card for more than 30 years, supporting age verification and underage access prevention measures for retailers across the country.
As the retail landscape continues to evolve, Reynolds American has also invested in TruAge, a program designed to further digitize age verification at retail. The organization says this additional layer of technology helps strengthen efforts to prevent potential underage access to tobacco and nicotine products.
Retailers remain a central part of this strategy. Reynolds American’s retail partners are a critical component of the underage access prevention ecosystem. Reynolds American is proud that many retailers have joined its efforts to help keep vapor products for adults.
That commitment is reflected in the Responsible Vapor Retailer program. Introduced in support of the Vuse Pro launch, the program establishes additional requirements for contracted retail partners that choose to sell Vuse Pro Pods.
For Reynolds American, the program is part of a broader effort to further raise the bar for responsible vapor retailing while supporting adult nicotine consumers seeking innovative smokeless alternative products. By combining responsible marketing, age verification initiatives and retailer collaboration, the organization is focused on ensuring vapor products are marketed and sold only to adult nicotine consumers.
For retailers, programs such as We Card, TruAge and the Responsible Vapor Retailer initiative underscore the growing importance of age verification and responsible sales practices. Reynolds American will continue to do vapor the right way by working with the FDA and further raising the bar with our trusted retailer partners.
